Well....here it goes! I decided to start this blog to keep me motivated and to track my progress. Let's start with a little background. I have always struggled with weight, my whole life. I had moments where I would lose weight and look good for a bit then...right back to gaining it all back plus more. In 2008 I had my son, I went nine more months after he was born in denial about how out of control my weight had gotten. In May of 2009 I decided to make a change. I started that month at 213 lbs (ugh) by working hard and eating right by February 2010 I was down to 136. Yep 76 pounds in 9 months. I was THRILLED and swore up and down I would never let myself gain the weight back. Fast forward 2 years and here I am, almost 100 pounds heavier (excuse me while I puke in my mouth about this). I am ashamed. I never wanted to be here again but now that I am the only thing I can do is own up to it and do something about it. I started this year at 233 pounds, my heaviest weight EVER (including when I was pregnant). I decided to join My Fitness Pal and enlisted the support of some good friends. I feel motivated and inspired and really want to change. I wished I had started this blog a month and a half ago but I will be happy to start now. I plan on doing weekly updates on my progress and what my strengths and weakness' for the week were.
I joined the gym Planet Fitness and have been trying to go at least 3 times a week. I love the way the gym feels and actually look forward to going. I also decided to start the program Couch-to-5K. It is a 9 week running program that is designed to get even the most out of shape person ready to run a 5K in two months. Currently I am on day 2 and love it. I need to buy better shoes as my feet are really hurting today and know that proper shoes will make a difference.
I will post starting pictures soon...those are the scariest part but for now we will start with my beginning stats.
